Dual Credit

Glossary of Terms

Academic - Courses that are offered and/or required to obtain a four-year Bachelor's degree.

Compressed Video - A method of course delivery to regional locations using live video interaction with instructor.

Elective Credit - Credits earned that are not required for completion of your college program.

Prerequisites - Requirement that must be met before enrolling in a course.  This may be a class that is required before you can register for the next level, or it may refer to ACT or SAT test scores that are required before registering.

Program Credit - Credits earned from classes that are required classes to complete your college program.

Technical - Courses that are offered and/or required to obtain a two-year Associate Degree.

Terminate - To quit attending all classes.  By terminating, you agree not to earn college credits for classes.  To keep your college transcript from showing a failing grade, you must terminate with a signed, termination form submitted to the Registrar's Office.  You must comply with institutional timelines for terminating and/or adding or dropping a class.
