Crider Named National Pitcher of the Week

Lewis-Clark State pitcher J.R. Crider (Phoenix, AZ) was named the NAIA National Pitcher-of-the-Week, Wednesday, April 4th.Crider, named the Region I Pitcher-of-the-Week yesterday, went 2-0 with a 0.69 ERA last week at the 26th Verizon Rainbow Easter Classic in Honolulu, HI. He opened the tournament with an 11-1 win over NCAA Division I Centenary College. Crider pitched 13 innings, yielding only five hits and one earned run, while striking out 12 batters.
He capped off the week by tossing six innings of one-hit ball, leading L-C to a 13-0 win over Hawaii Pacific in the White Division Championship Game. Crider only allowed two base runners, the entire game.
For the season, Crider is 6-0 with a 1.51 ERA. His six victories and ERA lead the Warrior starters. Crider is second on the team in strike outs with 43.
