Warriors Draw Closer, But Remain #2

LEWISTON, ID-
The Lewis-Clark State College Warriors remain in second place in the latest NAIA College Baseball Top 25 poll, released Tuesday, April 24th, but the Warriors did gain ground on first-place Oklahoma City (49-10).

The Warriors (41-10) recorded ten first-place votes and registered 656 total points, ten more than last week. L-C went 5-0 this past week, routing Whitman, 18-3, and romped through the Happy Day Corporation Tournament Field. L-C averaged 17.4 runs per game and 18.6 hits per game.

Oklahoma City, who went 5-1 last week, remains at #1 with 14 first-place votes and 659 total points. Birmingham-Southern (35-10) holds steady at #3. Dallas Baptist (31-11) moves into the top five at #4, while Warner Southern (43-11) stays at #5 with one first-place vote, despite going 2-2 for the week.

Region I teams that are in the polls are as follows: #29 British Columbia (32-14) came up 19 votes shy of the poll, Albertson is ranked #30, receiving 44 votes for the Top-25, and Western Oregon (30-11) fell out of the Top-25 and are now #34 with 34 votes.

The Warriors play at the University of Washington on Tuesday and Wednesday night, at 6:30 p.m., and will then venture across the border to battle the University of British Columbia in a 2:00 p.m. doubleheader, Thursday. L-C will then wrap-up the weekend by hosting Western Oregon Friday night at 6:00 p.m., Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m., and the rubber game on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
