--Top-ranked Lewis-Clark State scored two runs in the third and three more in the fourth, to put away Northwest Nazarene, 5-2, in the Paffile Trucking Tournament, Saturday afternoon, at Harris Field.Liam Keyte (1-0) picked up his first collegiate win by tossing three innings of no-hit relief, striking out four Crusader batters. He spelled starter Ryan Heitmann, who went four innings, and gave up only two hits and struck out five batters. Ricky Bostick faced one batter in the top of the ninth to earn his first save.
Matt Hellman led the Warriors (4-4), going 2-4 with three RBI. Hellman hit a bases loaded double into left center that scored all three runners. Brendan Ryan collected a pair of singles and Oscar Vargas, making his first start of the year, collected a double and a single.
Northwest Nazarene (0-7) only tallied four hits on the afternoon. Zac McBride hit a double in the eighth, and drove in a run in the ninth, after being hit by a pitch. Scott Frasnelly (0-3) picked up the loss after pitching six innings. James Porter retired all five batters he faced, in relief.
