LCSC Continues Domination of EOU, 7-3
LEWISTON,ID--Top-ranked Lewis-Clark State College scored four runs in the top of the fourth inning en route to a 7-3 win over Eastern Oregon University in a NAIA baseball game at Harris Field, Sunday afternoon, in the second day of the Paffile Trucking Tournament. Eastern Oregon has not won at Harris Field or beaten L-C anywhere, since the 1975 season (March 25).
Paul Gallegos and Tyler Best each had a pair of base hits to lead Lewis-Clark State (6-2). Second baseman Micah Furtado blasted a three-run homer to right center, pushing the Warriors to a 5-1 lead. Starter Collin Perschon (2-0) went five innings, scattering three hits and striking out five Mountaineer batters. Junior Avina picked up his first save of the season.
Easter Oregon (1-2) was led by Tommy Porter’s two hits, both doubles. His RBI
double in the bottom of the first, tied the game at one. Doug Scott (0-1) went
five innings, giving up six hits, five runs, four earned, and struck out three
batters.
