Furtado and Bullen Lead L-C past The Master's, 8-7

SEATTLE, WA--Nick Bullen reached on an error by Craig Troxell scoring Mike Madrid to give top-ranked (NAIA) Lewis-Clark State an 8-7 win over The Master’s College in the University of British Columbia Tournament, held at a neutral site at Husky Ballpark in Seattle, WA, Friday afternoon.

Bullen went 3-for-4 with four runs scored and one RBI, hitting his first home run of the season, a solo shot in the seventh for Lewis-Clark State (17-6). Micah Furtado extended his hitting streak to ten games, going 4-for-4 with four RBI and a run scored. Tory Haven collected a pair of singles to go along with a double.

Kevin Welch (1-0) picked up his first victory in only his third appearance for the Warriors. Ryan Heitmann picked up his first save of the season. The Warrior pitching staff walked 11 batters in the game. LCSC left 13 runners on base.

Brandon Tisher went 2-for-4 at the plate for The Master’s (13-13). Ken Durost (3-4) picked up the loss, working four innings in relief.

Lewis-Clark State will take on Albertson College at 4:00 PM, tomorrow, at Husky Ballpark.
