Warriors Fall to #3 Latest Poll
LEWISTON, ID-The Lewis-Clark State College Warriors fall to #3 in the latest NAIA College Baseball Top 25 poll, released Wednesday, March 27th. There was no poll conducted last week.
The Warriors (18-6) received six first place votes and tallied 593 total points. The Warriors are currently playing in the 27th Ohana Hotels Easter Baseball Tournament in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Atop the poll is Oklahoma City University (30-8). They received eight first place votes and 648 total points. Ranked second is Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (29-5) of Daytona Beach, Fla. The Eagles received 11 first place votes and totalled 632 points. Auburn University-Montgomery, Ala. (26-9) follows the Warriors in fourth and St. Thomas University of Miami (20-6) rounds out the top five.
Albertson College (12-7-1) is the only other Region I team ranked, coming in at #17, falling four spots from their last ranking in the preseason poll.
Other colleges that made the 2001 Avista NAIA World Series
field are as follows: #7 Dallas Baptist (20-9); #9 Bellevue (15-9); #22 Biola
(16-11); and, #23 Ohio Dominican (13-3). Warner Southern received 71 points,
Indiana Tech tallied 40 points, and Mobile registered one vote.
