LCSC Doubles its Pleasure with an 18-4 Rout Over Western Baptist

LEWISTON,ID--Lewis-Clark State College scored in every inning but the last two en route to an 18-4 demolition of Western Baptist College in the Guardian Plumbing and Heating Tournament, Saturday afternoon, at Harris Field. Lewis-Clark State hits eight doubles on the afternoon, tying a school-record. The last time LCSC hit eight doubles was April 25, 1987 against the College of Idaho.

Mark Gallagher went 4-for-6 with four RBI in leading Lewis-Clark State (13-4) to victory. Joe Wagner also collected four RBI while going 2-for-5 with three runs scored. Emerson Frostad blasted a grand slam, his only hit of the afternoon, in the top of the seventh. Nick Walker went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a pair of doubles.

Tim Petke (3-1) picked up the win for L-C after going five innings, allowing four hits and surrendering one run.

Dustin Purnell led Western Baptist (9-4) going 2-for-3 with three RBI, all coming off his three-run shot off of Warrior reliever Nick Bullen in the bottom of the seventh. Rusty Johnson picked up a pair of hits on the afternoon for the WBC Warriors.

Micah Mills (2-1) was tagged with the loss after pitching four innings, giving up 12 hits and 11 runs, ten of which were earned.

The Guardian Plumbing and Heating Tournament concludes Sunday with Western Baptist taking on Concordia at 11:00 AM and LCSC taking on Concordia approximately 20 minutes following the completion of the first game.
