Gallagher and Frostad Lead L-C in Rout, 18-3

LEWISTON,ID--Mark Gallagher tied a school record with three doubles in leading eighth-ranked Lewis-Clark State College to an 18-3 rout over Eastern Oregon, Saturday afternoon, at Harris Field.

Gallagher went 5-for-6 on the afternoon, with five RBI and three runs scored for Lewis-Clark State (28-11). He was just one hit shy of tying the school record for hits (6) in one game. Also almost making history was Emerson Frostad. He was also 5-for-6 at the plate, collecting a double, triple, three singles, and two RBI. Frostad was just a home run away from hitting for the cycle. The last Warrior to do that was Nate Vopata on May 18, 1995, against Albertson. Not to be out done, Zeph Zinsman went 4-for-6, with a towering blast to right, his eleventh homer of the season, and a double. He scored three runs on the afternoon. Tim Petke (4-2) earned the victory, by virtue of a predetermined split. He tossed four innings of three-hit ball and registered four strike outs. Patrick Bailes and Kyle Correa pitched the rest of the way, hurling three and two innings, respectively.

Justin Dosher had his second-consecutive three-hit performance for Eastern Oregon (5-23). He had a pair of doubles and a solo home run, his second, against Warrior pitching, Yesterday, Dosher had three singles. Bryan Myers (0-3) was knocked around for 2.2 innings. He gave up nine hits and nine earned runs.

The same two teams wrap-up the series tomorrow afternoon, at 1:00 PM.
