The Warriors unloaded 15 hits, seven of them coming in a nine-run third inning, and got a six-hitter from their four-way pitching split.
L-C, 6-1 overall, closed out the tournament with a 3-1 record, tying it with Linfield for the best mark among the five competing teams. Eastern Oregon dipped to 1-3 overall and in the tournament.
The L-C third started unremarkably, as Eastern Oregon starter Jonas Champlain (0-1) retired the first two batters. But the next 10 Warriors reached, including Billy Steverman with a bases-loaded triple and Miguel Padilla with his first L-C hit, a three-run homer to center field.
Padilla finished with four RBI -- he drew a bases-loaded walk in L-C's two-run eighth, while Neil Litchfield had three hits -- two of them doubles -- drove in a run and scored two.
L-C's Carlos Fisher (1-0) yielded five hits and Eastern Oregon's only run, in the third inning, but struck out four in his predetermined four-inning start. Nick Seely worked two no-hit innings, then was relieved by freshman Austin Weilep, who allowed only a single in two shutout innings that marked his collegiate debut. Sophomore Ikaika Lester, likewise making his first official Warrior appearance, struck out two in an in-order ninth.
The Warriors, who were beaten 11-3 by Linfield in their tournament opener on Friday, gave up 15 hits and two runs over their three subsequent games.
L-C will stage another multi-team event this week, playing host to the Guardian Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning tournament at Harris Field. Northwest Nazarene, British Columbia, and Oregon Tech will take part in the eight-game tournament, which begins Thursday.
