Lewis-Clark State picked up two more victories Sunday, sweeping St. Martin's in a rain-created doubleheader at Harris Field to push its winning streak to 14 games.

In the opener, a continuation of Saturday's weather-suspended contest, the Warriors scored nine runs after play resumed to notch a 15-4 victory.

Then in Sunday's originally scheduled game, a pair of three-run innings and solid relief pitching from Derrick Landavazo led to an 8-3 L-C triumph.

The Warriors, having played 14 games in the past 16 days, are 22-4. They'll be off until Saturday, when they play host to Central Washington.

Sunday's first contest resumed in the bottom of the sixth inning with none out, the bases loaded and L-C holding a 6-4 lead. After a popup and an infield error that allowed an L-C run, Josh Celigoy's RBI single pushed the Warriors' advantage to 8-4.

A conclusive rally followed in the seventh. The Warriors scored seven times on six hits, including a grand slam by Brandon Morris and a home run by Rhett Parker on the subsequent pitch.

Morris, who had a two-run homer in L-C's five-run third, now has a team-leading nine HRs.

Joey Dyche also homered in the third for L-C, which ended up with 16 hits, three coming from Gavin Concepcion.

Kyle Wright (3-0) collected the victory for his five-inning start, during which he gave up nine hits but only two runs. Nate Kuhns earned the save by working the final three innings in shutout fashion.

The Warriors had three more home runs in the nightcap. Celigoy led off the seventh with a bomb to right field, and two batters later Jose Castenon belted a two-run shot to left. Ryan Stevenson tacked on a solo homer in the eighth.

Allen Balmer keyed L-C's three-run fourth inning, lacing a two-run single with two down, giving the Warriors a lead they would not relinquish.

Landavazo (2-1), who relieved L-C starter Nick Colborn with one away in the St. Martin's fourth, limited the Saints (6-19) to one hit the remainder of the game.

The senior right-hander struck out seven and walked two.
