RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- Chris Kissock and Jason Garcia
combined on a seven-hitter, and Brandon Ramsey drove in all
of Lewis-Clark State's runs as the Warriors beat California
Baptist 3-2 on Wednesday afternoon.
The win was the fifth in a row for the Warriors, who move
to 13-4 and onto the second segment of this Southern
California swing, their first road trip of the season. L-C
opens a three-game series with Azusa Pacific with a
doubleheader today at 2 p.m.
Kissock worked the first 6l innings, allowing two runs
and four hits while striking out four and walking three.
Garcia gave up three hits, including a seventh-inning single
by Chilly Ronquillo that drove in Cal Baptist's second run,
in finishing out the game. The junior right-hander collected
the victory, moving him to 2-0.
Ramsey had three hits, including infield RBI singles in
the fifth and sixth innings. The Warriors, however, left the
bases loaded in both frames.
A Ramsey single in the eighth drove in Ryan Stevenson
with what proved to be the winning run.
Joey Dyche also had three hits for the Warriors, boasting
his hitting streak to 14 games.
The game featured a frightening sequence in the sixth. A
line drive off the bat of leadoff hitter Josh Celigoy struck
Cal Baptist pitcher Ross Stout in the forehead. Stout,
(2-2), the eventual loser, was removed from the game.
Cal Baptist will be in Lewiston for a four-game series
with the Warriors beginning Monday. |
