LCSC:
Hit .349 after playing in 43 games and starting 39. His 158 at bats
was fifth on the team and he was second in RBI with 42. He also tied
for second in both doubles (14) and home runs (six). Hit .446
against left-handers. Was a first-team NAIA Region I selection.
JUNIOR
COLLEGE: During freshman
year at Irvine Valley, he hit .363 and was selected first-team
all-league. The following season he helped his team make its
first-ever playoff appearance. He again was selected first-team
all-league and was drafted by the Cleveland Indians.
HIGH SCHOOL:
At Mater Dei High School, Mier won two varsity letters in baseball
and football, and was captain of the baseball team his senior season
when the team won the Serra League championship.
PERSONAL:
Born March 5, 1985 in Fontana, Calif., to Fausto and Leticia Mier.
His hobbies include spending time with family, watching movies,
playing outdoor sports, and listening to music. Jessie Fausto Mier
is majoring in Criminal Justice.
