JUNIOR COLLEGE: Played two seasons at the College of Sequoias where he set a school record last year with 126 strikeouts, breaking the old record of 105 he set the previous year. He posted a 7-2 record last year in league play alone with a 3.04 ERA and went 10-3 overall. He pitched 83 innings in league play and had 87 strikeouts to earn all Nor-Cal team honors. Was a first-team all-league selection both years and had an ERA of 1.78 as a freshman with 105 strikeouts in 95 innings.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played baseball for three seasons at Golden West High where he was both a pitcher and an outfielder. He was captain of the team his senior year and helped the team complete an undefeated season. He was a first-team all-league choice all three seasons. He set the strikeout record as a junior with 129 in the season. As a sophomore, he threw the first perfect game in school history and was named to the all-area team.

PERSONAL: Born Sept. 22, 1986 to Bill and Mary Schwinden, Chris lists his hobbies as wakeboarding and playing Halo2. He is majoring in Kinesiology at LCSC.
