HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Highline High in Seattle last June after earning three letters in baseball. Served as captain of the team his senior season. Started every game as a sophomore and helped team to league and district titles as well as a fifth-place finish at State. Was the team MVP his junior year and earned second-team all-league honors. Help team win league title and was a first-team all-league selection his senior year. He also played in the State All-Star Game.

PERSONAL: Born Feb. 12, 1988 to Marty and Barbara Shaw. Gary Bedell is his step-father and Tracy Shaw is step-mother. Has three brothers, Kyle Bedell, Spencer Heritage, and Trevor Shaw; and two sisters, Kellie Bedell and Taylor Heritage. He played on the Olympia Pepsi Connie Mack team that finished second in the state and third in regionals. He is majoring in Kinesiology.
