HIGH SCHOOL: Played three seasons for the orange and black at Mountain Home where he was both an outfielder and a pitcher. He served as team captain his final two seasons. As a sophomore, he hit .418 with four home runs and 29 RBI, earning first-team all-conference honors as team finished fourth at State after winning district title. He hit .300 with 15 RBI as a junior and had a solid American Legion season with a .492 average with 54 RBI and four home runs. As a senior, he hit .310 with 20 RBI and again was a first-team all-conference selection as team finished seventh at State.   Hit .504 in Legion with five home runs and 50 RBI, helping team to State title.

PERSONAL: Born April 16,, 1988 in Boise, Idaho to Troy and Pam Young. Bret has two brothers, Randy and Ronny. He had a 3.46 GPA in high school. He is undecided on a major at LCSC.
