LCSC
adds Lewiston High product Knigge
4-25-07
Lewiston High School senior pitcher
Tyler Knigge has signed a
letter-of-intent to play for the
Lewis-Clark State College baseball
team, LCSC coach Ed Cheff has
announced.
Knigge
is the son of former LCSC standout
Kent Knigge, who played for the
Warriors in the 1980s.
The
Knigges moved to Lewiston last year
from Filer, where Tyler was a
standout athlete at Filer High
School. Tyler played for the
Lewis-Clark Twins last summer and is
a pitcher on the current Lewiston
High team. Earlier this season, he
threw a four-hitter in a 2-1 win
over Borah of Boise.
“We
believe he has a great upside and as
he physically develops, he will
become a quality pitcher for us,”
Cheff says. “He has a great mental
make-up.”
The
LCSC roster currently has two
Lewiston High products on its roster
– junior first baseman Kyle Greene
and freshman catcher Tyler Carson,
who is redshirting this season.
