LCSC baseball
team will have 30 home games this season
1-11-08
The
Lewis-Clark State College baseball team will
play 30 home games this season and will kick
off play on Feb. 15 at home against state
rival College of Idaho in the Regence
BlueShield of Idaho Tournament at LCSC’s
Harris Field.
The
Warriors will play a Region I schedule that
features three-game home and away series
against the University of British Columbia,
College of Idaho, Concordia University,
Oregon Tech and Corban College.
LCSC
also will play NCAA Division I schools
Gonzaga and the University of Washington
twice. LCSC plays host to Gonzaga on March 2
and will travel to Spokane and meet the Zags
on April 23. LCSC will travel to Seattle
twice to play UW, the first on Feb. 28 and
then later on May 13.
Missing from LCSC’s schedule this season is
the annual Banana Belt Tournament and games
with Washington State University.
The
Warriors play host to the Regence BlueShield
of Idaho tournament on Feb. 15-17. The
Warriors will be joined by Mayville State,
an NAIA school in North Dakota, Whitworth of
Spokane and College of Idaho. A week later,
five teams will participate in the Guardian
Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning
Tournament on Feb. 21-24. Joining LCSC will
be St. Martin’s Western Oregon, British
Columbia, and Montana State-Billings.
In
non-Region I play, LCSC will take on Dixie
State of Utah in a three-game home and away
series. LCSC also will travel to St.
Martin’s and play back-to-back home and away
games with Whitworth on April 16 and 17.
LCSC
will again take part in the Region I
Tournament on May 8-11 but will not be
allowed to host the tournament. If the
Warriors win the Region I title they would
play host to the best-of-three Super
Regional, which would start either May 15 or
16.
The
10-team Avista NAIA World Series will be
held May 23-29 at LCSC’s Harris Field. LCSC
will receive an automatic berth to the
tournament.
