LCSC’s Fitts is named Region I Pitcher of the Week

Lewis-Clark State College junior pitcher Matt Fitts has been named the Region I Pitcher of the Week for his performance against Concordia last Friday. 

Fitts, a 6-foot-2 right-hander from Santa Rosa, Calif., tossed a complete-game three-hitter in a 4-0 win over Concordia in Portland. Fitts struck out nine and walked one in the contest. 

For the season, Fitts is 7-0 with a 4.12 earned run average. He has pitched 59 innings and allowed 47 hits, 27 earned runs and 22 walks. He also has struck out 63. 

Fitts, a preseason NAIA All-America selection, went 10-1 last season with a 2.08 ERA. He was selected in the 15th round by Houston in the major league draft, but chose not to sign and player another year at LCSC.
