JUNIOR COLLEGE:
Attended Fresno City the past two years. As a freshman, he posted a
6-1 record with a 2.25 ERA. His team was ranked No. 1 in the nation
for junior colleges during the regular season and wound up third at
the state. As a sophomore, he went 9-1 with a 2.40 ERA and was a
first-team all-conference pick. His team again was ranked No. 1 in
the nation and finished third at state. Michael went 3-0 in the
playoffs and threw one of his three shutouts in the playoffs.
Pitched 100 innings last year.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Attended Fresno High and graduated in 2004. He earned three letters
in baseball as played first base and outfield as well as pitched. As
a sophomore, he went 4-1 with a 1.18 ERA. His team won the league
title and advanced to the semifinals in the playoffs. He went a
remarkable 15-1 with a 0.75 ERA as a junior to earn first-team
all-state honors and was the league’s Player of the Year. He
followed that up with a 12-1 mark with a 1.25 ERA as a senior. Was
again a first-team all-state and all-valley selection. His team went
to the Valley championship and lost 2-0. He went 3-0 with two
shutouts during the playoff run.
PERSONAL:
Born on Oct. 26, 1986 to Roy and Belinda Guerrero. Has two brothers,
Mario and Delsid. Lists sports as his hobbies. Is majoring in
Kinesiology at LCSC.
