JUNIOR COLLEGE: Attended Mount Hood Community College where he was an outfielder on the baseball team, serving as a captain during his sophomore year. As a freshman, he earned second-team Southern Region honors in the NWAACC, and then was a first-team Southern  Region selection as a sophomore. Also named to the NWAACC second team.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Gresham High and graduated in 2004. He was a three-year letterwinner in baseball, playing both infield and outfield, and also was a guard for two seasons on the basketball team. He earned honorable mention all-league honors for baseball as a junior, and then was a second-team selection as a senior.

PERSONAL:  Born March 3, 1986 to Mike and Janet Speer. He has one sister, Kyla. Justin is pursuing a degree in Kinesiology at LCSC.
