LCSC:
Appeared in 13 games as a
sophomore and was third on
the team in starts with
eight, including the third
game of the NAIA World
Series. Finished with a 3-4
record and a 6.59 ERA. Threw
42.1 innings and struck out
43 with 18 walks. Opponents
hit .274 against him. During
his freshman year, he
pitched in eight games and
23 innings. He established a
3.13 ERA and 3-0 record.
Started three games, but
also came out of the bullpen
and earned two saves. He
struck out 25 and held
opponents to a .244 batting
average. Also was a member
of the World Series team
that won the national title.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Attended Filer High School
in southern
Idaho before
family moved to Lewiston. Played three
years of baseball, two years
of soccer, one year of
football and wrestled one
year as well. During senior
year at
Lewiston,
he went 6-2 with a 1.39 ERA
to earn all-league and
all-state honors. He posted
a 3.85 GPA in high school
and was a member of the
National Honor Society. He
also participated in 4-H and
FFA. Also played two seasons
for the Lewis-Clark Twins
American Legion baseball
team where he went 8-2 with
a 2.90 ERA prior to his
senior year.
PERSONAL:
Born October 27, 1988 to Kent
and Sandra Knigge in
Portland, Ore. Has three brothers, Cameron, Kyle, and
Kasey. His father was a
standout player for the
Warriors. Both parents
graduated from LCSC, his
father in 1984 and his
mother a year later. Lists
hunting, fishing, and
camping as his hobbies. Tyler is majoring in Elementary Education.
