GONZAGA: As a freshman he appeared in 34 games and started 25, all as catcher...He usually batted in the bottom half of the order and recorded 16 hits in 84 at-bats...Hit one double and drove in five runs...He made collegiate debut with a pinch-hit single in the ninth inning on opening day in win against the University of Missouri on Feb. 19....Made his first start on Feb. 27 in loss against the University of Kansas...Scored first two runs in win against Brigham Young University on March 15.
