 JUNIOR COLLEGE: Hit .346 with seven doubles, 12 triples, 27 RBI and 12 stolen bases as a sophomore under coach Stacy Parker at Mt. San Antonio…Led Mounties in batting average, hits, runs and RBI, while only making one error in the field…Triples total led entire CCCBCA…All-Pacific Association third team selection among players in California, Washington and Oregon…First team All- American…South Coast Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Year and was also All-SCC as a freshman.


HIGH SCHOOL:
Graduated from West Hills HS in 2010, where he played varsity football and baseball as a senior... At South Hills, earned first-team All-CIF Southern Section Division III honors and first-team all San Antonio League…Batted .440 with three homers, two triples, 10 doubles and stole 15 bases as a senior...Hit over .430 in each of high school seasons…All- Tournament team selection at the Diamond Sports National Classic in 2010… Also a standout quarterback in high school, throwing for 1,366 yards, 16 TDs at South Hills as a senior... Went to West Covina HS for freshman, sophomore and junior years earning three varsity letters in baseball and one in football.


PERSONAL:
Born Jan. 18, 1992 in Moreno Valley, Calif...Hobbies include camping and dirt bikes...Majoring in Kinesiology...Father is Russell...Has two brothers, Kyle and Nick, and one sister, Michelle...Brother Kyle Shirley played football at Bethany College...Another relative, Mike Saxon, was a punter for three NFL teams from 1985-95.
