Warrior Golfers Receive All-Conference Honors; Thompson Named Coach of the
Year
Thompson,
in his third year as head coach, received honors as coach of the year for
the second time in his collegiate coaching career, both of those earned
while here at LCSC. This year also marks the first
time either men’s or women’s team won the Region I tournament. The men did
so last week, receiving an automatic berth to Nationals. Samara Kluever of Lewis-Clark State was selected as a second team honoree. She had a total of 1198 points on the season and averaged 85.6 points per round. The Warrior men had a great showing for the conference selections, with five total names added to this year’s list. Aaron Curtis, Jeff Thoeny, and Shawn Krahling filled three of the five first team all-conference positions. Aaron Curtis had a point total of 1021 on the year and an average of 72.9 points. Teammates Jeff Thoeny and Shawn Krahling totaled 1028 and 1032 points respectively to finish 4th and 5th overall. Thoeny had an average of 73.4 points and Krahling averaged 73.7 points per round. Warriors selected to the second team included junior Marc Vedder and sophomore Jeff Smith. For more on Warrior golf, visit us at www.lcsc.edu/athletics
