Now
in his 5th season as
the Warrior’s head coach, Paul Thompson is looking forward to another successful
season for both the men’s and women’s teams.
Coach Thompson’s initial goal when he took over the program was to bring stability,
while being competitive in conference and national play. In just 4 years
Thompson has met and exceeded his own expectations, and looks to continue his
fortunes into the upcoming season.
In 2005-06, for the third time in his collegiate coaching career, Thompson was
named the Frontier Conference's Men's Coach of the Year. While leading them to
another conference title, the men's team enjoyed being ranked in the NAIA's top
25 for a large part of the season. They finished the year ranked 27th.
On the women's side, Thompson saw Assistant Coach, Steve Tilden, grab the other
Coach of the Year title, and the women's program win their first ever Frontier
Conference championship.
At the end of the 2004-2005 season the men finished
15th and the women 14th at the National Tournament.
Impressive accolades were also given to individuals on the LCSC golf squad.

In his first season as
head coach, Paul directed the men’s team to first place in the Frontier
Conference and was named Men’s Golf Frontier Conference Coach of the Year. The women’s team finished second in the Frontier Conference and received an
at-large berth in the NAIA National Tournament--finishing in 14th
place.
The
Warrior men’s and women’s teams at the end of the 2005-2006
season were ranked 27th and 18th respectively. With returning
roster depth, talented incoming freshmen, and the leadership of last year’s
“coach of the year”, both teams look to have a 2006-2007 season full
of successs.
Paul's retirement from his position as the Vice President of
Pepsi Cola (Lewiston, Idaho) four year's ago opened the door of opportunity to
pursue collegiate coaching. With 38 years of experience in the business
world, he has a strong background in fund raising and managing,
