LCSC women’s golf team
climbs to No. 12 in NAIA poll
3-30-07
The
Lewis-Clark State College women’s golf team climbed two
spots in the National Association of Intercollegiate
Athletics’ second poll of the season, which was released
Friday.
The
Warrior women moved to No. 12 in the poll and actually
switched spots with fellow Frontier Conference member
Rocky Mountain, which slipped to No. 14.
Oklahoma City drew all 12 first-place votes to hold down
the top spot, while the University of British Columbia,
and Concordia of Portland, Ore., are ranked No. 5 and
No. 9, respectively. UBC and Concordia, like LCSC and
Rocky Mountain, are part of the NAIA’s Region I. The
University of Victoria, also from Region I, is ranked
No. 22.
On the
men’s side, the Warriors are tied at No. 28 with William
Woods of Missouri. Oklahoma Christian is the unanimous
No. 1 team, while British Columbia is at No. 3.
Victoria, at No. 15, is the only other Region I team
ahead of the Warriors.
Both
LCSC golf teams will return to action on April 16-17
when it plays host to a 54-hole regular-season
conference match at the Lewiston Golf and Country Club.
