SAN DIEGO – The Lewis-Clark State College women’s golf team found the going a little rough in the final round of the 13th annual NAIA Women’s Golf Championships on Friday and wound up placing 13th overall in the four-day tournament, which was played at Lake San Marcos Country Club.

The Warriors shot a team score of 50-over par on Friday, their worst of their four rounds, to finish at 172 over with a 1,324 total.

Cortney Shrout, a freshman, led the Warriors as she shot a 9-over-par 81 on Friday to finish with a 328 total, which tied her for 52nd overall. Teammate Juanita Villa, who was named the Frontier Conference’s Player of the Year earlier this week, was 14 over on Friday and finished at 331.

Chantelle Beveridge shot an 83 Friday for a 342 total, while Samara Kluever had an 88 for a 334, and Kara Player, the lone senior on the team, had a 90 for a 340.
