LCSC golf teams stand fourth and
fifth after day one

COEUR D’ALENE – The Lewis-Clark State
College men’s and women’s golf teams are in fourth and
fifth place, respectively, after the first 36 holes of
the Region 1 Tournament, which was held Monday at the
Coeur d’Alene golf Club.
The Warrior men were in third place after
the opening 19 on Monday, but slipped in the second
round and finished with a 600 total, nine shots behind
Rocky Mountain and one shot ahead of Concordia. Jeff Ray
was in fourth place overall at 144 for LCSC.
The Warrior women shot a team score of
678 after rounds of 336 and 342 and trail fourth place
University of Victoria by nine strokes heading into the
final 18 holes on Tuesday. Juanita Villa led the
Warriors on Monday with a 163, which placed her tied for
ninth overall. Alana Norris was tied for 19th at 170.
The winners of each tournament earn an
automatic berth to the national tournament. The
remaining teams need strong showings to earn at-large
berths.
