LCSC women's golf team finishes 19th at
nationals

DIEGO -- The Lewis-Clark State College
women's golf team never did find its groove
at the NAIA National Women's Golf
Championship, but still finished 19th
overall after Friday's final round at the
San Marcos Country Club.
The
Warriors shot a final-round team score of
357, its highest score of the four-day
tournament, to finish at 1395 and 20 shots
behind No. 18 Mobile.
LCSC's
Juanita Villa, a junior, and Cortney Shrout,
a sophomore, led the Warriors with 342
scores, which tied them for No. 73 overall.
Villa shot a final round of 85, while Shrout
had a 92.
Freshman Alana Norris had a 91 to finish
with a 349, while Sue James finished at 362
after a final round of 89. Samara Kluever
rounded out the top five with a 376.
Oklahoma City won tie title by three stroke
over Embry-Riddle in the tightest finish in
the 14-year history of the tournament.
