LCSC women’s golf team earns
at-large berth to national tournament

KANSAS CITY, Mo. –
The Lewis-Clark State College women’s golf team received
the last at-large berth and will be among the 23 teams
that will take part in the 14th annual NAIA Women’s Golf
National Championships, which run May 20-23 at the Lake
San Marcos Country Club in San Diego.
The Warriors are
the fifth-ranked team in Region I, which was able to
capture the final three at-large berths. Concordia of
Oregon received the No. 8 at-large berth, Victoria of
British Columbia earned the No. 9 berth, while LCSC
received the final berth.
The national
tournament will feature 13 regional champions and 10
at-large teams. Region I had four at-large teams with
Rocky Mountain also earning a berth. The University of
British Columbia won the Region I tournament two weeks
ago to earn an automatic berth to nationals.
The 72-hole
national tournament will feature 18 holes of play each
day on the par-72 course, which features tree-lined
fairways and some water hazards. Each team will have
five golfers play in the tournament, but only the top
four scores each day will be used for the overall team
score.
This will be the
fourth time in the last five years the Warrior women
have played at the national tournament.
