LCSC CAREER: Played varsity as a freshman and wound up tying for eighth in the conference in scoring average at 74.9, which earned him second-team all-conference honors… Highlight of the season came in the opening round of the third and final conference regular-season tournament when he fired a 3-under-par 69 at the Lewiston Golf & Country Club to win medalist honors… Was the only player to break part on the day and had four birdies in the round…Finished second on the team in the tournament championship match against Rocky Mountain when he shot an opening-round of 69 to tie for low honors.

GOLF HIGHLIGHTS: Was a varsity member all four years and played at the No. 1 or No. 2 spot… Was a three-time all-Inland Empire League first-team selection and won the MVP award and Bengal Award, which is given to the hardest worker… Served as captain his final three seasons… Helped Lewiston qualify for state all four seasons… Was the team’s top scorer at state as a sophomore when Lewiston placed sixth and was the No. 2 scorer as a junior when the Bengals placed seventh… Has won several high school and individual age group tournament titles.

PERSONAL: Born April 12, 1990 to Shawn and LeeAnn Nilsson and he has one sister, Allyssa, who is playing golf at the University of Idaho… Father and grandfather both played football at UI and his father was also his golf coach at Lewiston High… Played tight end and linebacker at Lewiston High School and lettered his final two years… Was team captain as a season and led team to a perfect regular season… Named the North Idaho Player of the Year… Also played on the basketball team for two seasons, which won the Idaho State 5A title his senior year… Posted a 3.70 GPA in high school and won a few scholarships, including the Luke Wullenwaber Scholarship, which is given to the top defensive football player who is in National Honor Society.
