LCSC men’s and women’s
tennis teams capture
berths to nationals

The Lewis-Clark State
College men’s and
women’s tennis teams
nailed down berths to
the NAIA national
tournaments when both
were ranked in the
NAIA’s final Top 25
polls, which came out on
Wednesday.
The Warrior men are
ranked No. 19 in the
country, down one spot
from a week ago, while
the women remained at
No. 22. Both teams had
to be ranked in the
final poll to earn
automatic berths to
nationals. Both are the
highest ranked Region I
teams, but the highest
ranked team must be
ranked in order to
receive a berth.
The NAIA’s 57th annual
men’s and 28th annual
women’s national
tournaments will be held
at the Mobile Tennis
Center in Mobile, Ala.,
on May 12-16. Pairings
for the tournaments will
be announced next week.
The LCSC men finished
12-10 overall, while the
women are 8-9.
This will be the 18th
time the LCSC men’s team
has participated in the
national tournament and
the 15th time for the
women.
