Six LCSC tennis
players earn academic and
performance honors

Five
Lewis-Clark State College tennis players
were recently honored for their scholastic
achievements during the 2006-07 academic
year, while another player achieved NAIA
All-American status.
Boria Molas,
who graduated in May, became the ninth LCSC
men’s tennis player to earn NAIA
All-American honors. He was ranked No. 9 in
the country and compiled a career record of
56-23 at LCSC, which puts him eighth on the
program’s all-time win list. Molas is from
Barcelona, Spain.
Andy Hunt, Ali
Faris, Kevin Lee, and Kaylan Crane all
earned 2007 ITA Scholar-Athlete honors. All
met the requirements of the award for being
a varsity letterwinner, having a grade point
average of 3.50 or higher during the
academic year, and being enrolled at LCSC
for at least two semesters. The ITA is the
governing body for U.S. intercollegiate
tennis.
Hunt graduated
last May while the other three will be back
this season.
Faris and
Shefat Baishakhi earned NAIA Academic
All-American honors as well for having GPAs
of 3.50 or higher. It marked the third
straight year that Faris has earned the
honor.
