COLLEGE MISCELLANY; L-C sweeps Region I titles

NAMPA -- The Lewis-Clark State men's and women's tennis teams both posted easy victories Saturday to secure the championships of the NAIA Region I tournament.

Both teams are almost certain to nab berths in the national tournament. All regional champions who are ranked receive automatic bids to nationals.

The L-C women are currently ranked 10th while the men are 21st. The final poll will come out this week.

After defeating Southern Oregon and Albertson on Friday, the Warriors women came out and rolled over Alberta 9-0 to clinch their ninth consecutive regional title.

The men defeated Alberta for the second time in two days to win their best-of-three series. It's L-C's seventh consecutive regional title.

The NAIA men's and women's tourneys will both take place May 16-20 at Mobile, Ala.
