Rikki ran well last
season and broke 20 minutes for the first time,
recording a personal-best of 19:35. She earned
Academic All-America honors and was arguably one
of the most critical keys to the team’s every
day energy and great attitude, according to
Coach Mike Collins. She served as an alternate
for the team at the national meet.
Rikki has made steady
progress since her freshman year, when she
served as the team’s alternate . As a sophomore,
she moved her way up throughout the year and
wound up being the team’s fifth competitor at
nationals. She placed No. 42 in the regional
meet and No. 222 at nationals. She also won the
team’s Champion of Character Award.
Rikki has the rare
opportunity to be on a team that qualifies for
nationals during all four years of her
eligibility.
