LCSC men’s cross country team finishes second at Sundodger

9-15-07

SEATTLE – The Lewis-Clark State College men’s cross country team enjoyed its best finish ever at the University of Washington Sundodger Invitational by placing second on Saturday.

The Warriors, ranked a program best No. 7 in this week’s NAIA poll, lived up to the billing with a strong showing in the Open category, which is for non-NCAA Division I schools.

Spokane Community College won the Open with 64 points, while LCSC was second in the 20-team field with 80. Region rival Simon Fraser, which is ranked No. 24 in the NAIA, was fourth at 109 points, while another Region I rival, the University of British Columbia, was 12th.

Calin Hantau was LCSC’s top finisher, taking 10th overall. He was followed by Aaron Galbraith and Eric Tuwei, in 15th and 16th place, respectively.

Other LCSC finishers were Sean Huey at No. 21, Chris McConnell at No. 36, Adrian Ramirez at No. 37, Jake Miller at No. 59, John Kane at No. 145, and Keith Nebeker at 158.

No individual times were available.

Both the LCSC men’s and women’s teams will be back in action next Saturday in Boise for the Bob Firman Invitational.
