Continued her outstanding
cross country and track
efforts by earning
All-Frontier Conference
honors in cross country and
qualifying for the national
meet in the steeplechase in
track.. During cross
country, she was named an
NAIA Academic All American.
Competed in the NAIA
national meet for the third
straight year … Kyli was LCSC’s top finisher at the
national meet in 68th
place overall and 47th
among the scoring runners…
She was sixth at the
Frontier Conference meet and
was regularly the No. 2 or
No. 3 finisher on the team…
In track, she placed third
in the steeplechase at a
meet in Spokane and met the
national qualifying
standard… Was hampered by a
heel bruise, but still wound
up running at nationals...
She had an outstanding
sophomore year by earning
all-Frontier Conference
honors and also was named to
the conference’s
all-academic team… Ran a
personal best of 18:23 at
LCSC’s Invitational… Started
the season strong by
finishing second in the
Whitman Invitational and
also was second in the
Bigfoot Invitational in
Spokane and the LCSC
Invitational… She was LCSC’s
No. 2 finisher in every meet
and wound up 94th overall at
the national meet… During
her freshman season, she
made an immediate impact and
competed for the Warriors at
the national meet… Was
always among the top seven
runners on the team… Ran a
personal best of 18:57 at a
home meet.
HIGH SCHOOL: Chose
volleyball over cross
country in high school and
helped Shoshone to state
titles in 2004 and ’05… Also
helped basketball team to
state title in 2005 and a
third-place finish as a
senior... She won numerous
state track titles,
including the 1,600 and
3,200 her senior year... She
also placed three times in
the 800, finished second
twice in the 1,600, and won
the 3,200 as a sophomore,
and was second as a freshman
PERSONAL: Born Aug. 20, 1988 in Shoshone Idaho
to Barb and Brad Astle. She
has one older brother Brock,
and a younger sister,
Taylor... Has had several
relatives play college
sports… Has made the
President’s List every
semester she has been at
LCSC and also is a
Foundation Scholar… Also is
a member of the Ambassadors
Honor Society… Hobbies
include hanging out with
friends, watching movies,
and doing outside
activities, such as hiking,
swimming, fishing and
biking… She is a Kinesiology
major with a minor
in Business Administration.

PROGRAMS: I simply love
to compete and love running,
but the thing I love most is
the people I have met and
the memories we have made.
We have all had our ups and
downs, but we have stuck
through them all together.
