Wenatchee Valley College…averaged 14 points,
four rebounds, and four assists a game…named to the Eastern Region All-Star
team as a sophomore.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Attended Goldendale High School…averaged
20 points, seven assists, and six rebounds a game as a senior…named to the
All-State team and All-State Tournament Team in 2000-01…also named to the
Media Classic All-Star team.
PERSONAL:
Business Administration major…son of Dennis and Chris Jaekel…COACH
PFEIFER ON JAEKEL: “Andy comes from a very good High School and
Junior college program. Those years he spent in those programs have served
him well. What he needs to do is get stronger to make the transition to this
level, where the physical maturity of the players he is going against are
right now larger and stronger. We have agreed it would be in his best
interest to red shirt. The fact we have several players in his slot, and he
could use this year to develop strength made this decision a ‘no brainier’.
The goal is to give him time to concentrate his efforts for a year on the
weights and develop his over all strength, which will be a critical
component to his development as a basketball player.”
