High...named to the All-National Team at NACA.
PERSONAL: Has yet to declare a major…son of Shane and Teresa
Young…has one brother…born Aug. 4, 1982…COACH PFEIFER ON YOUNG:
“It was really unfortunate that Chad broke his ankle about 2 weeks into the
season. The decision to red-shirt last year was on our mind before it became
a must decision. What makes it so unfortunate is that with the kind of
injury that he had he was not able to play during his red shirt year. Chad
has impressed us from the first day he came to us two years ago to now, with
the tremendous strides in his over all strength. When he was a freshman,
part of his problem was his ability to bang around with older more
physically mature players. Now that is not an issue for him. His challenge
has never been scoring; he is one of those players that can get the ball in
the hole. What will be imperative for him is to learn how to play with
others on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Once that takes
place, the fact he can make baskets will get him his day in the sun.”
