LCSC Men’s Basketball Sign's 6-6 JC Transfer
July 14, 2004
The Men’s Basketball Team at Lewis-Clark State College added a critical piece to their recruiting class with the addition of 6’6 #190 small forward John Moore, from Chicago, IL. Moore transfers to the Warriors from San Jose City JC where he earned First Team All-League and Honorable Mention California Junior College All-State, this past season.
Moore prepped at Proviso West High School in Chicago where he was named All-Area scoring 15 PPG and grabbed 6 RPG his senior year in 2000. He went to San Jose City College from 2002 through 2004. This past year he scored 10.3 PPG and grabbed 7.1 rebounds per game, in a program that was very ball controlled on offense. During this season he was selected to two different California All-Tournament teams. He has 25 points for a season high and twice had season highs of 15 rebounds.
George Pfeifer had this to say about John Moore: “John brings a lot to the table for us. He is long and very athletic. He possesses high level jumping ability, and puts that to use getting rebounds at both ends of the court. What he really offers is competitive spirit. John brings his lunch pail to work all the time. His ability to score next to the rim and facing gives us a small forward with the inside-outside scoring threat we were seeking. He has a great middle game on offense. John was highly recruited and in the end it came down to us and Georgetown Kentucky. We are all extremely excited he is going to be with us next year, and expect him to impact our program immediately.”
