Warriors Douse Skylights, 108-71

 

LEWISTON,ID--Lewis-Clark State used a 28-4 run, right out of the opening tip, and rolled to a 108-71 Frontier Conference women’s basketball win over Montana State-Northern, Saturday evening, at Warrior Gymnasium.

The Warriors (17-1, 2-0 Frontier Conference), ranked fourth in NAIA’s Division I, were led by Shannon Russel’s (Ritzville, WA) 19 points and Brooke Cushman’s (Lewiston, ID) double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds. Brianne Jolley (Nine Mile Falls, WA) netted 15 points and Jessica Foot (Karana Downs, Australia) added 12 points and seven assists.

Brianne Kottwitz (Bozeman, MT) returned to action, for the Warriors, after undergoing knee surgery. Kottwitz scored 10 points and dished out seven assists. Sara McEachern (Lewiston, ID) scored 15 points, but more importantly, she tallied her 1,000th-point with 10:01 left to go in the first half.

The 22nd-ranked Skylights (13-4, 0-2), were led by Davina Shoemake’s 21 points. Anna Fabatz added 13 and Lana Quintyne and Kelsy Burgmaier netted 11 points apiece.

Lewis-Clark State will travel to Dillon, MT for a Thursday night game, January 11th, at Western Montana, at 5:00 p.m. PST.
