Warriors Tame Bearcats
Lewis-Clark State used a 23-10 second half run to defeat a feisty Willamette team, 67-52, Friday night, December 8th, at the Warrior Gymnasium.The fourth-ranked Warriors (8-1) were led by Brianne Jolleys (Nine Mile Falls, WA) season-high 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Brianne Kottwitz (Bozeman, MT) added 13 points and Alyssa Erickson (Wilbur, WA) chipped in with 12 points and seven boards. Sara McEachern (Lewiston, ID) pulled down a team-high nine rebounds before fouling out.
The Bearcats (6-2) were led by Kelly Sorensons team-high 19 points and Heather Ludwig registered a double-double with 15 points and 16 rebounds.
The Warriors outscored the Bearcats, 24-14, in the paint, and also forced them into 34 turnovers. Lewis-Clark State outscored the Willamette bench, 15-3. Neither team shot particularly well from the floor. L-C shot 32.8% and the Bearcats shot only 34.0%.
Lewis-Clark State plays at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, ID, at 6:00 pm Pacific.
