BUTTE, Mont. -- Lewis-Clark State found the shooting touch it so sorely missed the night before, drubbing Montana Tech 73-60 on Saturday in Frontier Conference women's basketball.
The Warriors, who lost 57-53 to Montana-Western on Friday, shot 46 percent from the field Saturday, an 11-percent jump in the 24-hour span. They were 8-for-17 from 3-point range as compared to 4-of-18 on Friday.
"It's disappointing when you don't play nearly as well as you should, and then there's always the fear that will carry over to the next game," L-C coach Brian Orr said. "But we responded well. We shot the ball like can, and we pretty much won the game in the first half with our defense."
The Warriors (18-7, 6-3) forced Montana Tech into 28 turnovers, 19 of which occurred in the first half. L-C led 36-23 at the break.
Cami Kalbfleisch led the Warriors with 17 points, while Jessica Foot and Ashley Baker scored 16 apiece.
Foot's output moved her past Brianne Kottwitz into third place on L-C's all-time scoring list. The senior guard has 1,488 points in her Warrior career.
The Orediggers, who outrebounded L-C 43-25, got 22 points from Letty Powell.
The Warriors return home this week, playing Rocky Mountain and Carroll on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.
