Warriors continue tough road swing

convincing victories this past weekend
at Azusa, CA, including a 95-90 win
against 12th ranked NAIA foe
Azusa Pacific, the Warrior women’s
basketball team continue their road
swing against NCAA Division II
powerhouse Western Washington University
and Seattle Pacific University.
The 14th nationally ranked
Vikings host L-C tonight, Thursday, Dec
1 at 7 p.m. The game can be heard live

Both teams enter this evenings contest
undefeated, with L-C at 6-0 and Western
currently at 2-0.
On the year, L-C is averaging 88 points
per game, while Western is tossing in 85
per outing.
The Warriors are led by the one-two
punch of juniors Ashley Baker and
Aundrea Morrison. Currently, Baker is
averaging 22 points and 10 boards on the
year, while Morrison is equally as
impressive with her 17 point and 10
rebound per night output.
Like the Warriors at home, the Vikings
have been virtually unstoppable when
they play inside their own cozy
confinements. The Vikings are 348-58
(85.7 percent) in 33 years at Carver
Gym, winning 88 of their last 97 home
games (90.7 percent). They have reached
double-digit victories at home in each
of the last eight years. Western was
12-1 in 2004-05, 11-2 in 2003-04, 12-2
in 2002-03, 13-1 in 2001-02, 13-1 in
2000-01, 12-0 in 1999-2000, 13-2 in
1998-99 and 10-4 in 1997-98.
Following the Viking game, L-C travels
to Seattle, WA to take on the #3
nationally ranked Seattle Pacific
University Falcons. The 2005 NCAA
division II finalists currently stand at
3-0 on the year, and enter Saturday
night’s contest with a 63 straight home
victory stand. Game time is set for Dec
3rd at 5 p.m.
