Surprising New Rank for Women’s Basketball
1-5-06
On a seven
game winning streak and holding a 13-2
record, the women’s basketball program has
played some very competitive teams and have
beat the majority of them. With one of the
best starts to the season in the programs
history and with their consistent march up
the national ranking chart, the Warrior
women and their fans have to be a little bit
surprised by the latest, January 4th,
rankings. December 14th they were
ranked #16, and today they sit one spot down
at #17. The drop is not drastic or worth
worrying about, but it is interesting who
slipped past the Warriors in the national
rankings.
Azusa Pacific, whom the Warriors beat 95-90
in Azusa, CA, have established a 9-3 record,
and have jumped from #17 to #14. However,
the Warriors aren’t worried about Azusa
Pacific or their new rank, as they look to
continue their winning ways during
conference play.
Along side the men’s team the women will
travel to play probably one of their biggest
games of the year versus #2 ranked Carroll
College on January 5th (Carroll
College will travel to the Activity Center
on February 4th). And, after one
more game in Montana against Rocky Mountain
College, they head to Utah to face
Westminster. By January 19th and
21st, the Warriors will be back
home in the Activity Center playing
conference games versus the University of
Great Falls and MSU-Northern.
