Warriors Climb the Polls

Women move up four slots from previous rating

1-11-06

Lewiston, ID- Following a huge win on the road last week against then #2 Nationally ranked Carroll College by a score of 60-48, and two night’s later claiming an overtime victory at Billings, MT against Ricky Mt.  College, it comes as no surprise that the Warriors have climbed the polls in the most recent NAIA rating.  L-C (15-2) finds themselves considered by the NAIA raters across the country as the 13th best team in the nation.

Like the week prior, unfortunately, is the shocking news with teams who continue to receive more votes than the Warriors.  Azusa Pacific, whom L-C defeated on the road November 25 by a score of 95-90, currently sits four slots higher than the Warriors, at #9.  As for L-C’s conference rival UM-Western, who is now ranked #6, they lost to Westmont College back on November 10th by a score of 52-66.  Just so happens to be the same Westmont College team the Warrior women defeated on the road by a score 79-74 on November 26.

Regardless of the Warriors national respect, or lack there of, L-C will be challenged throughout the course of the Conference schedule, as five Frontier teams are either ranked or have received votes in the latest poll.

L-C travels to Salt Lake City this Saturday as they take on Westminster College.  Game time is set for 5 p.m. PST.
