Russel Named Frontier Conference Player-of-the-Week
Lewiston, ID-Shannon Russel (Ritzville, WA),
of fourth-ranked (NAIA) Lewis-Clark State College, was named the Frontier Conference Player-of-the-Week, for the week ending Sunday, January 7.The 5-10 junior guard scored 43 points and made 14 of 22 three-pointers in Lewis-Clark States two wins this past week. Russel set a school record with eight treys against the University of Great Falls, last Thursday night. She also moved into second place, all-time, in made three-pointers with 163. Rosie Albert is in first place with 273. The Warriors defeated UGF, 106-45, and 22nd-ranked Montana State-Northern, 108-71, last Saturday night. Russel was 6 for 12 from behind the arc Saturday night.
Russel is the second womens basketball player from Lewis-Clark State to earn Frontier Conference Player-of-the-Week, Sara McEachern received the honor December 10th.
