Kyla Harris Signs Letter-of-Intent to Attend LCSC and
Play Basketball
LEWISTON, ID-
Kyla Harris of Longmont, CO, has signed a letter-of-intent to attend Lewis-Clark State College and play womens basketball for new Warrior head coach Brian Orr beginning in the Fall of 2001."Kyla represents a key piece to the puzzle and we are excited that she is joining our program," said Orr. "She has a solid game. She can defend, rebound, and the bigger the game, the bigger she plays. That is what I like best about her. She is a winner."
Harris, a 5-11 post player, transfers in from Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff. She helped lead the Cougars to a 47-12 record in her two-year stint, and an appearance in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) this past Winter. She averaged 10 points per game and pulled down close to seven rebounds per game in her career. Harris also shot over 50% from the floor at Western Nebraska.
Harris had originally signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play for NCAA Division I Indiana University-Purdue University-Fort Wayne, but chose Lewis-Clark State because of its successful tradition. She was also highly recruited out of high school.
