Amy Flaig to Play Volleyball and Basketball This Year
LEWISTON, ID-
Sophomore Amy Flaig (Missoula, MT/Sentinel HS), will not only play volleyball this year for the Warriors, but womens basketball as well for head coach Brian Orr."Amy represents a key piece to the puzzle and we are excited that she is joining our program," said Orr. "She is a solid post player that knows how to defend and has the ability to score points in the paint."
Flaig, a 5-11 middle blocker and an All-Conference Freshman Team selection on the Warrior volleyball team, will inherit one of the post positions vacated by the graduated Sara McEachern, Kally Lytle, and Brooke Cushman. At Sentinel High, Flaig was named First-Team All-State and All-Conference as a senior. She averaged 13.4 points per game, 10.6 rebounds per game, and 1.3 steals per game. Following her senior season, she played in the 2000 Treasure State Classic. Flaig was named Honorable Mention All-Conference after her sophomore season.
Amy Flaig joins fellow recruits: Kyla Harris, Kendra West, Leah McCauley, and Shanta Coleman in Orrs first recruiting class at Lewis-Clark State.
The Warriors finished last year with a 33-4 overall record and posted a 12-2 Frontier Conference record, and made it the NAIA Womens Division I Final Four, losing to eventual National Champion, Oklahoma City. Lewis-Clark State has made six consecutive appearances in the NAIA National Tournament. L-C won the Frontier Conference regular-season and post-season titles.
